New regulation

The European Commission proposal for a Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers was adopted by the European Parliament on 19 April, 2018 and by the Council on 22 May, 2018.

Competition cases

The Competition Committee is currently dealing with 25 cases. The sectors concerned are as follows:

63% : Motor vehicles
23% : Construction and Off Road equipment
9% Agriculture equipment
5% Other types of equipment

The main issues concerned by UEIL actions are:

Access to technical information (32 %)
Misleading communication (29 %)
Warranty issues (20 %)
Approval procedures (17 %)
