New ATIEL & UEIL Position Paper Calls for Practical and Credible Recognition of Lubricant-Enabled Emissions Reductions

The ATIEL & UEIL Joint Sustainability Committee has published a position paper on avoided emissions and handprint methodologies, outlining the industry’s view on how sustainability frameworks can better recognise measurable efficiency improvements and the resulting emissions reductions delivered by lubricants and greases while maintaining scientific rigour and transparency. The paper also highlights that avoided emissions complement, rather than replace, corporate greenhouse gas reporting and can provide additional insight into how products contribute to wider decarbonisation.
