| Competition Committee Cases 11 cases are currently handled by the Competition Committee. They concerned different sectors: Passenger Cars, Trucks, Agriculture Equipment, Off Road Equipment. European Commission The Competition Committee will meet DG Competition soon. This meeting will give UEIL the opportunity to insist on the importance of a FAQ document from the European Commission regarding the new regulation about the Motor Vehicle Aftermarket Sector. Click here to know more HSE Committee At the last committee meeting in May a new project to study Indoor Air Quality was launched. The final objective is to provide UEIL members with guidelines for safe use of MWF in order to reduce health problems which are related to indoor air pollution. The actual study should be kicked off in 2013. The other project will be a continuation to the Ionic mixtures irritation studies, in particular the short chain fatty acids (C12) starting materials... | Taxation Task Force Additives The European Commission published its decision to include additives (CN 3811) in the control and movement provisions of the Energy Taxation Directive in the EU Official Journal the 20th of April 2012. As application date the 1st of January 2013 is mentioned. EMSC Concerning the Polish/Lithuanian request to include base oils under EMCS, UEIL has continued its outreach activities towards many EU member states to guarantee a blocking minority against this proposal. GEIR The European Re-refining Industry discussed gaps in EU waste law implementation with policy-makers, NGOs and industry. The implementation of EU Waste Law at national level remains unsatisfying. The European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety is putting pressure on the Commission to closely monitor the implementation of EU waste law and take action where necessary.
