| Competition Committee Cases 12 cases were handled by the Competition Committee in 2011. 9 were successful and 3 are always in process (in the motor vehicles sector and the construction equipments sector). New cases in which uncompetitive behaviors have been detected will be provided soon by the Technical Committee to the Competition Committee. GEIR The European Waste Oils Regeneration Industry (GEIR) engages on end-of-waste discussion for waste-derived fuels As part of the Waste Framework Directive implementation, the European Commission’s Joint Research Center is entrusted with responsibility to develop end-of-waste criteria for the different waste streams. | UEIL Secretariat After two years supporting UEIL , Jean-Philippe Monod – UEIL Senior Policy Advisor - has decided to pursue new career opportunities. Although we hate to see him leave, we are happy that he has an exciting opportunity ahead of him. UEIL would like to thank Jean-Philippe for his contribution to the lobbying work of UEIL, in particular in the framework of the Block Exemption Regulation campaign last year and now in the taxation campaign. To replace Jean- Philippe, UEIL is glad to announce the arrival of a new team member, Mr Harald Boerekamp, who is now the Senior Policy Advisor for UEIL. Harald brings with him very solid and interesting experience having worked for many years as a Dutch diplomat and for the European Commission.
